Bruno Sutter
Bruno grew up in beautiful Eastern France near the German border. He received his extensive education and training from the "Compagnon du Devoir" and after a rigorous 10 years of education, training, and professional work experience he received his "Brevet Professionnel Charpente." This would be the equivalent to a masters degree in heavy timber design and construction. He traveled all over the world during his journey man years working hands-on as a craftsman and in areas of management, design, estimation, and restoration for prestigious timber frame companies. During his free time Bruno would take snowboarding and hiking trips with friends all over France and Switzerland. He came to the US in 2005 to develop the curriculum at The American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC. He fell in love with Charleston and its somewhat European feel. He now lives in his James Island home where he can hear the waves of Folly Beach just 10 minutes away. With no alpine snow nearby he picked up surfing, enjoying what Folly Beach can offer and making surf trips to Florida when able. Ultimately he gets his greatest surf fix while working on our projects in Costa Rica. In addition to wood construction and board sports he is also very fond of cooking and cuisine. Coming from Europe, Bruno believes strongly in the importance of building to last. He strives to mix modern wooden design and construction with traditional craftsmanship.
